Established in 2011, the Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli (IIM Trichy/IIMT) is an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. It is governed by the Indian Institutes of Management Act, 2017, which confers statutory status on IIM Trichy. The institute operates from its modern 175-acre campus in Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), a historic temple town in Tamil Nadu. In the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025, IIM Trichy was ranked 16th in the Management category, reaffirming its position among the country’s leading business schools.
